Faculty Positions in Mechanical Engineering

The University of Nicosia– an independent, co-educational, tertiary education institution with a student population of more than 10,000 students— is the largest and most-diverse private University in Cyprus. Located at the new Research and Technology Building (RTB), in Nicosia, the Department of Engineering currently houses four different disciplines, namely, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Oil & Gas Engineering. A new fifth discipline on Mechanical Engineering is scheduled to be offered at the Bachelor’s level on September 2017.

In meeting the teaching requirements for specialized elective courses in the programme and expanding the research portfolio of the Department, the BSc programme in Mechanical Engineering invites applications for three (3) faculty positions. Research and teaching expertise in the thermal and fluid engineering, such as internal/external combustion engines, thermo-fluid dynamics, turbomachinery, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, etc., is essential for two (2) of the three (3) vacancies. Applicants with expertise, research experience, and professional know-how in manufacturing and industrial engineering are sought for the third vacancy.

Successfully candidates need hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field. Teaching experience and a good publication record are also desirable attributes.
