Third Licensing Round: Game-Changing Possibilities

The programme in Oil & Gas Engineering, at the University of Nicosia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy (MECIT) and the Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) cordially invite you to a short-conference regarding Cyprus’ Third Licensing Round for Hydrocarbons.

Among else, the conference will examine joint operation agreements between states and companies, the geology of carbonate plays, the implications from the collapse in oil prices, the role of engineers in realizing energy projects as well as the prospects of discovering more gas in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Mr. Lakkotrypis, Minister of Energy (MECIT) will deliver a keynote talk. Distinguished speakers from the oil & gas industry, who will speak at the conference, include Mr. Theo Kontou, Senior Engineer Consultant at Shell (Gabon), Mr. Roger Thorne, veteran of the petroleum industry as well as academics. The conference will be held on Thursday June 9th, 2016, at the UNESCO amphitheatre at the University of Nicosia. Attendance is free. The event will be delivered in English.
